Without protonvpn-cli running, the Pi reliably connects to the Internet, too.Ī previous installation of protonvpn (is that the "community CLI client"?) on a previous installation of Raspbian made a year or so ago did work reliably, except that it would drop the connection after a while not in use and require reconnection. ProtonVPN running on my Windows machine connected to the same router reliably connects to ProtonVPN's network using the same credentials as I use to log in with the Raspberry Pi and protonvpn-cli (I have a paid ProtonVPN Plus account). I have tried complete reinstallation of the OS and of protonvpn-cli, but get the same symptom every time. (Of course, sometimes it picks a different server than UK#73, as the -f flag asks for the fastest one, which varies.) Then, nothing happens for many minutes I never get a connection. However, when I use the command "protonvpn-cli connect -f", I receive the output:Ĭonnecting to ProtonVPN on UK#73 with UDP." I was able to log in successfully using the command "protonvpn-cli login". I then installed ProtonVPN's official Linux command-line client protonvpn-cli (the latest version, 3.11.0), using apt-get as instructed on ProtonVPN's page. I made a completely clean install of the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS (released: ) on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, using the latest version of Raspberry Pi Imager (v1.7.1). I cannot connect to the ProtonVPN network on the Raspberry Pi OS.
